What is the story of this
movie with all my generation of both genders? once I wrote a FB status “
watching you’ve got mail “ and here we go in less than two hours about 18 likes
and 20 comments of how it is a nice movie !!!, for me I watched it about hundred
times and nothing in the world can make me happy than this movie !!!
You start the movie with
its advertisement which says “ someone you pass on the street may already be
the love of your life “ the director starts the movie with his two main characters
moving early morning in the streets of NY , they pass by each other’s in cross
roads, when Kathleen Kelly gets out of star bucks, Joe Fox enters it and
vice versa
They keep emailing and
chatting with no personal details for long time without knowing that they are buisness
competitors and that he eventually will put her out of business and he in real
life will be the most hated person in the world for her !!! And in the evening
he mentors her online of how she could manage him in the real life!!!
She hears nothing in the
crowdness of NY except her heartbeat, she like the NY fog she is dreaming and
even when she breaks up with her boyfriend he asks her if there is somebody
else she answers: “there is the dream of someone” she is fallen in the love of “love”
this is one of my favorite scenes in the movie
And the song in the
background says: ”REMEMBER love is only a dream and life is not as it seems”
softly and nicely In real life she dislikes him and treats him as bug when he collects the caviar garnish during the party they first met as real business competitors
The funny thing is how Joe
fox treated her after she is out of business, broke up with her boyfriend and
has terrible flue that he pays her a visit and made her hot drinks and started
to mentor her in real life and this time for the email friend (he switches
roles) and starts to make her question the email friend attitude
The funniest scene is when
he asks her about the email friend nick name and starts to say "N-Y-one-five-two. One hundred and
fifty-two. he’s... one hundred and fifty-two years old. He’s had one hundred
and fifty-two moles removed, so now he’s got one hundred and fifty-two pock
marks on his face."
And he starts to ask her
about that email friend and that she needs a real date and to see him in reality
On her way to the first
date she wished that that email friend would be Joe Fox and the look and smile
on her face then the tears in her eyes are marvelous when she finds out that HE
IS Joe fox
Then the song somewhere
over the rainbow is on and the film ends
I just love the movie, the
elegance and simplicity in all of its aspects , who knows: “someone you pass on the street may already
be the love of your life”!!
Enjoy the final scene with the lovely song “ somewhere
over the rainbow” my favorite scene ever
